The
Mission of our Programs
Florida Foresight is organized to conduct public
education and community action programs related to:
A. Preservation and enhancement of: 
- Natural resources, scenic beauty,
wilderness areas, and wildlife habitat;
- Cultural, traditional, and ethnic
practices, skills, and forms of artistic expression including,
but not limited to, music, dance, crafts, writing, and
painting;
- Architectural and archaeological sites of
intrinsic value;
- Recreational sites, parks, trails,
waterways, scenic byways, and other public areas;
- Historic buildings, such as civic or
educational institutions and local or regional enterprises
that have contributed significantly to shaping the way of life
an social structures of today; and
- Other facilities and characterizes of
community life that offer opportunities for nature-based and
cultural heritage tourism
B. Assistance to regions, counties, and
municipalities in Florida and related public or private institutions
on:
- Improving the timeliness, quality, and
consistency of decision-making processes for long-term
planning;
- Establishing effective mechanisms for
implementation and monitoring that advance the purposes cited
above;
- Encouraging, supporting, and promoting
sustainable economic development, job creation, and economic
well-being; and
- Promoting and facilitating diverse,
responsible, timely, and equitable community participation in
all phases of the activities and programs cited in Sections A
and B above and
C. Generation of broader national and
international attention to, and understanding of, the progress
achieved in Florida communities and other entities in the state in
fulfilling the purposes outlined above, through programs designed to
transfer the experience gained and lessons learned in Florida to
other regions of the United States and the world.
