 Florida Gulf Coast Maritime Center

SURVEY OF UNIQUE MARITIME OBJECTS

Wakulla County is developing a Strategic Plan to help guide the development of a Maritime Center , to be located on the Big Bend Scenic Byway in Panacea. The focus of the Center will be the Big Bend region of Florida , from Cedar Key to Carrabelle.

Florida Foresight, as a partner in this project, is conducting a survey to identify objects that are unique in nature and relate to the history and development of:

  • Maritime practices and communities of the Big Bend
  • Seafood industry of the Big Bend
  • Exploration and settlement history of Native Americans, Spanish, and British along the Big Bend
  • Immigrant settlements and transportation along the region
  • Recreational fishing of the Big Bend
  • Waterfowl and coastal hunting

Please contact Diane Delaney at didelaney@msn.com, if you own such objects and would be willing to donate or lend them to the Center.
